Pink Muhly in Seoul 2026: 5 Best Spots to See Korea's Pink Autumn Grass
When people think of autumn in Korea, they usually picture red maple leaves and golden ginkgo trees. But in recent years, another autumn scene has taken over Korean social media: soft, cotton-candy-pink fields of pink muhly grass.
From a distance, pink muhly looks like a pink mist floating over the ground. Up close, its fine, feathery stems catch the sunlight and glow, which makes it one of the most photogenic sights of the season. Here is everything you need to know about where and when to see pink muhly in and around Seoul.
What Is Pink Muhly?
Pink muhly (Muhlenbergia capillaris), called 핑크뮬리 (pinkeu-muli) in Korean, is an ornamental grass native to North America. It has become a favorite in Korean parks and gardens because of its dreamy pink color in autumn.
When Is the Best Time to See Pink Muhly in Seoul?
In the Seoul area, pink muhly is usually at its best from mid-October to early November. The color is most vivid on sunny days, especially in the late afternoon, when the low sun lights up the grass from behind.
Tip: Visit on a weekday morning if you want photos without crowds.
1. Olympic Park (올림픽공원)
The easiest pink muhly spot to reach in Seoul. The pink muhly grows in the park's wildflower garden, and the wide open lawns around it make it a relaxing place for a walk.
Address: 424 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul
Subway: Line 9, Hanseong Baekje Station, Exit 2
Opening hours: 05:00–22:00
Entry fee: Free
2. Haneul Park (하늘공원)
Haneul Park, which means "Sky Park," sits on a hill above the Han River in Mapo-gu. It was once a landfill and has been transformed into one of Seoul's most beautiful parks. In October, its slopes are covered with pink muhly and silver grass, and it is one of the best sunset spots in the city.
Address: 95 Haneulgongwon-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul
Subway: Line 6, World Cup Stadium Station, Exit 1, then about a 20-minute walk or a park shuttle
Tip: Stay until sunset. The pink and silver grass under an orange sky is unforgettable.
3. Jamwon Hangang Park (잠원한강공원)
If you want pink muhly with a Han River view, head to Jamwon Hangang Park. Its 6,000㎡ grass garden is planted with pink muhly and 25 other kinds of ornamental grasses.
Address: 221-124 Jamwon-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul

How to get there: Take the train to Yangju Station, then a taxi.
5. Anseong Farmland (안성팜랜드)
A large farm park popular with families and couples. Along with pink muhly, you can see farm animals and enjoy other activities. The pink muhly here usually peaks in late October.
Address: 28 Daesindu-gil, Gongdo-eup, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do
Entry fee: Adults 15,000 won (weekends)
Tips for Visiting Pink Muhly Fields
Stay on the paths. Stepping into the fields damages the grass. Most spots have photo zones and walkways.
Go in the late afternoon. Backlit pink muhly looks its best in photos.
Check before you go. Bloom times change slightly every year, so check the latest updates before visiting.
Bring a light jacket. Autumn evenings in Seoul can get chilly, especially at hilltop parks like Haneul Park.
