What to Wear in Seoul in November: A Complete Packing Guide

November is one of the most beautiful months to visit Seoul. The autumn leaves are at their peak, the skies are clear, and the city feels fresh and lively. But it is also the month when Seoul changes from autumn to winter, so packing the right clothes can be tricky.
Don’t worry. Here is everything you need to know about the weather in Seoul in November and exactly what to wear.
What Is the Weather Like in Seoul in November?
November in Seoul is cool and mostly dry, with temperatures often around 2–13°C (36–55°F). The monthly average is about 7.5°C (45°F).
The big thing to know: early November and late November feel very different.
Early November: Mild autumn weather. Days are pleasant, and a light jacket is usually enough.
Late November: It starts to feel like winter, especially at night and in windy, open places like the Han River.
Seoul’s first snow usually falls around November 20 on average, but it is usually light and doesn’t last long.
Good to know: The wind can make it feel much colder than the number on the weather app. Always check the “feels like” temperature.

The Golden Rule: Dress in Layers
Mornings and evenings are cold, but afternoons can be warm and sunny. On top of that, Korean buildings, subways and cafes are often well heated.
That is why layering is the best way to dress in Seoul in November. You can easily take off a layer when you go inside and put it back on when you step out.
A simple layering formula:
Base layer: T-shirt or long-sleeve top
Middle layer: Sweater, cardigan or fleece
Outer layer: Jacket or coat
What to Wear in Early November
Early November is perfect autumn weather, great for walking around palaces and enjoying the fall leaves.
Light jacket, trench coat or denim jacket
Sweater or cardigan
Long pants or jeans
Comfortable sneakers
What to Wear in Late November
By late November, it’s time to bring out warmer clothes.
Warm coat, padded jacket or light down jacket
Thick sweater or fleece
Thermal inner layer (especially for evenings)
Scarf
Warm socks and closed shoes
Tip: If you get cold, buy a hot pack (핫팩) at any convenience store like CU, GS25 or 7-Eleven. These small heat packs warm up when you open them and stay warm for hours. Put one in your pocket. Koreans love them!
What to Wear for Different Activities
Walking Around Palaces and Neighborhoods
You will walk a lot in Seoul, so comfortable shoes are a must. Many palaces, hanok villages and markets have stone paths and hills.

Evenings by the Han River or at N Seoul Tower can be very cold and windy. Bring a warm jacket, a scarf, and maybe gloves, even if the daytime was warm.
Wearing Hanbok
Planning to rent a hanbok for your palace visit? In November, wear a thin long-sleeve top underneath, and ask the rental shop if they have a warm jacket or shawl to wear over it.
